buttery herb baste for chicken

1 cup butter               
½ cup lemon juice           
1 T. fresh parsley            
1 tsp. fresh sage            
1 ½ tsp. fresh rosemary
1 ½ tsp. fresh thyme
1 tsp. fresh majoram
1 ½ tsp. fresh basil
salt / fresh ground pepper

Melt butter in a sauce pan.  Add lemon juice, chopped herbs, salt and pepper.  Simmer for 1-2 minutes.  Dip chicken pieces in warm basting mixture.  Place on grill and bbq or place on rack on cookie sheet in the oven.  Bake or grill to your taste.  During the grilling/baking process brush chicken with remaining baste.  To prevent flare-ups to a minimum during bbq process, remove chicken from grill and redip in sauce 2-3 times.
